How to Freeze Bell Peppers
Ingredients
- Fresh bell peppers
- Cookie sheet or sheet pan
- Freezer storage bags
Directions
- Wash the bell peppers.
- Cut off the tops and remove the seeds.
- Slice or chop the peppers, depending on how you plan to use them later.
- Place the peppers on a cookie sheet in a single layer.
- Freeze for 1 hour.
- Once frozen, transfer the peppers to a freezer storage bag.
- Store in the freezer and enjoy later!
Tip: Freezing them individually on the cookie sheet first helps keep the pieces from freezing together in one big clump, making it easy to grab just what you need for future meals. Frozen peppers soften as they thaw, so use them in cooked dishes—soups, chili, fajitas, scrambles—rather than raw.
