Ingredients

  • 3 lbs apples
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Water

Directions

  1. Peel the apples, then cut out and remove the cores.
  2. Cut the apples into 1–2 inch pieces.
  3. Add the apples to a slow cooker.
  4. Add the cinnamon sticks, salt, and water.
  5. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours.
  6. Remove the cinnamon sticks.
  7. Blend the cooked apples with an immersion blender until you reach your desired consistency.
  8. Serve warm, or cool and refrigerate.

Tip: Leave the blender out of it and mash with a fork or a potato masher for a chunkier, old-fashioned sauce.
