Homemade Applesauce
Ingredients
- 3 lbs apples
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Water
Directions
- Peel the apples, then cut out and remove the cores.
- Cut the apples into 1–2 inch pieces.
- Add the apples to a slow cooker.
- Add the cinnamon sticks, salt, and water.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks.
- Blend the cooked apples with an immersion blender until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve warm, or cool and refrigerate.
Tip: Leave the blender out of it and mash with a fork or a potato masher for a chunkier, old-fashioned sauce.
