Fresh Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • 4–5 apples
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Remove the cores from the apples, leaving the bottoms intact so they can hold the filling.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon. Mix well.
  4. Fill the center of each apple with the brown sugar mixture.
  5. Pour ¼ cup water into the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the filled apples in the dish.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 40–45 minutes, until the apples are tender when pierced with a knife.

Serve it up: Warm from the dish, with ice cream, caramel, or whipped cream.
