Ingredients

  • 1 (1 oz.) packet original Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup buttermilk (use ½ cup for a thicker dressing)
  • 2 tomatillos, husked and diced
  • ½ bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 jalapeño, stem removed

Directions

  1. Remove the husks from the tomatillos and rinse well. Wash the cilantro and prepare the garlic and jalapeño. For a milder dressing, remove the jalapeño seeds and membranes.
  2. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Taste and adjust as desired. Add more buttermilk to thin it, lime juice for extra tang, or jalapeño for more heat.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors come together. Stir well before serving.

Serve it on: Salads, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, or as a dip for fresh veggies. The recipe makes about 16 servings and keeps refrigerated for up to 5 days.
